Plato's Rural Heritage Lives On in Plato Township Park

The museum will be open for special events in the park, and by appointment.

The museum is located in a "1940's Era" small town railroad depot. The depot museum sits in Plato Park on Stonecrest Drive--just off Russell Road in Plato Center, Illinois.

The museum is not only a Railroad Museum, but it also shows the history of a small rural town. The depot, also, was the setting for several scenes of a Civil war movie shot in 2005.

The Museum is open for special events and by appointment only. Youth, school and scout groups are welcome. To set a time for your visit, contact Museum Manager, AI Price at 847-902-5498. Admission is free-Donations are appreciated.
