Muirhead bridge demolition

Crews have completed milling the old roadway leading to the bridge.

Work will soon begin to install a new 24-inch storm drain beneath Plato Road.

During the storm drain installation, Plato Road will remain open but operate with only one lane at a time. Traffic will be limited to a single lane, with flaggers directing vehicles to ensure safety. Drivers are encouraged to plan for potential delays and allow extra travel time.

The date for the partial road closure will be announced once it is determined.

Demolition crews are making progress on removing sections of the bridge deck in preparation for a safe span removal. Although there have been some delays, crews are actively addressing challenges while maintaining safety as the highest priority.

Residents are urged to remain patient and exercise caution as these improvements continue.
