Plato Township has entered into an intergovernmental agreement with Kane County to provide unincorporated Plato Township residents with household hazardous waste (HHW)collection service at your doorstep.
The next collection day for Plato Township is May 20th.

Recycle Chemicals, Paint, and Other Hazardous Materials
Kane County’s household hazardous waste (HHW) home collection program is currently operating.
Residents in eligible areas can schedule collections of HHW from your homes.
US Ecology, the service provider, is operating this program in compliance with State guidelines.
Eligible Areas for Home Collection
Geneva, Batavia, West Dundee, Carpentersville, South Elgin, Plato Township, and Mill Creek residents have access to this program through partnerships between their town (or township) and the county.
Residents in these areas may schedule one free collection per year from your home. Collections are done mid-month each month.

Naperville HHW Facility is currently closed
When open, the HHW Facility at 156 Fort Hill Drive in Naperville serves all Illinois Residents for free drop-off of HHW. It is closed until further notice.
Kane County Recycling Program Status document is regularly updated, and will include any reopening of drop-off locations and rescheduling of events.
